A node number is not a talkgroup. It is an address on the AllStarLink network, which carries uncompressed analog audio. Where a system appears here, somebody has put a bridge between its digital side and that node, so the same audio reaches both. Connecting an AllStar node to one of these numbers puts an analog user into a digital conversation and the reverse.
A node can belong to a net rather than to the system. Some of the entries here join a system during a scheduled net and are not permanently bridged.
Hub nodes are not per-talkgroup routes. FreeSTAR runs AllStar hubs 2196, 2167, 2166, 63061 and 40063, and a great many systems on the cross-reference are hosted on FreeSTAR System X. Those hubs carry FreeSTAR’s own traffic. Being hosted on a network that has AllStar does not put a system’s talkgroup on AllStar, and no system was listed here on that basis alone. The same applies to Extended Freedom’s nodes 2195 and 2197.
